Rebounder™ Seed Covers
About the Rebounder
For over a decade now, the Rebounder has proven to be a sensible solution for farmers nation-wide, not only increasing yields but also overall profits. The Rebounder™ seed cover is a simple but effective planting attachment that improves the accuracy and uniformity of in-furrow seed placement on planters and drills. Season after season, the Rebounder seed cover has proven itself to be a small investment that pays large dividends at harvest time.
Benefits of the Rebounder
As the double discs on a planter open a seed V in wetter, heavier soils, they tend to “orange peel” the side wall. Seeds can lodge on the side wall and not get all of the way to the bottom of the seed V. If you dig in the seed trench where the Rebounder has passed, you will find all of the seeds at the bottom of the seed V. The half moon notch in the end of the Rebounder keeps the Rebounder 1/4 - 1/2” off the bottom of the seed V eliminating any seed drag.
When mounted to the seed tube, the Rebounder puts less than one pound of pressure on the seed tube when planting. This small amount of pressure in the seed furrow row eliminates mud from building up when planting in heavy, wet textured soils. To find a Rebounder that is right for you, check out Rebounders for Planters and Drills.
Patented Concave Design
- Smooth concave design keeps the seed covered in the furrow and prevents seed bounce
- Built-in "neck flex technology" allows for flexibility of the Rebounder in all soils
- Enters the seed trench right behind the discs
- Upside down spooon shaped design forms to the seed V
- Guides seeds to the bottom of the furrow
- Unique half moon tip prevents seed drag
- Rebounder improves germination and consistent emergence
Eliminates Common Problems
- Rebounder will not build up with mud
- Will not bunch seeds
- Will not leave seeds lodged on sidewalls
- Does not press the seed in the ground
- Does not drag seeds
- Funnels all seeds to the bottom of the seed V
Ease of Installation
- Designed to fit planters and drills
- Can be used with optional fittings and liquid fertilizer attachments
- Easy to install, less than 5 minutes per row
You Only Have One Chance to Get It Right
Uneven seed spacing and inconsistent depth placement are two of the top contributors to decreased yields. The Rebounder Seed Cover has been eliminating these two issues for over a decade.
Installation is a snap with the Rebounder Seed Cover. Depending on the model of planter or drill, we have a Rebounder that fits.
For most planters the Rebounder is attached to the seed tube. We’ve utilized this mounting method for years and have found it to be safe and effective. The Rebounder is designed to work with the seed tube, not against it, serving as a stabilizer that keeps the seed tube in the center of the furrow.
Other attachments on the market place approximately 1.5 pounds of pressure on the seed, causing uneven emergence. This pressure on the seed pushes it deeper in softer soils and leaves it shallower in firmer soils creating a wave effect in the depth placement.
The Rebounder Seed Cover is designed to funnel the seed to the bottom of the seed V, also ensuring that it will eliminate seed bounce, uneven spacing, and seeds flipped on top of the soil.
See the Difference
Planted with Firming Attachments
- Inconsistent seed spacing
- Uneven emergence
Planted with Rebounders
- Consistent seed spacing
- Uniform emergence
The Rebounder maintains consistent depth placement, generating higher yields through healthier plants. Without the Rebounder, inconsistent depth placement occurs with seeds landing 3/4″ to 1-3/4″ deep. Shallow planted seeds can cause poor root structure and reduced yields.
Rebounder technology is designed to give you uniform seed placement and accurate depth control, leading to improved germination and consistent emergence. The reliable Rebounder Seed Cover keeps your seeds in check.

Liquid Fertilizer Attachments
Each Rebounder has the option of allowing liquid fertilizer or chemical application. This can be accomplished directly in the furrow with the Hose Holder kit or off to each side with our Y-Not Split-It kit. See our section titled Rebounder Optional Fittings for full details. The Rebounder & Optional Fertilizer Fittings
How much do the Rebounders cost?
The Super Tuff Orange Rebounder retails for $30/row. Optional Fertilizer Fittings and Brackets cost extra. As always prices are subject to change! Click here for a complete list of part numbers and prices (pdf).
History of the Rebounder
Over a decade ago Paul Schaffert CEO of Schaffert Mfg. and 3rd generation farmer in Red Willow County Nebraska was confronted with an issue. As one of the largest Buffalo and Tye dealers in the nation he along with many other farmers was having difficulties with seeds bouncing in the seed trench and completely affecting seed spacing. Paul, after many years of farming, knew the importance of seed spacing and seed depth control management and fully understood that it was one of the most contributing factors to yield performance. As one of the leading No-Till innovators in the state of Nebraska he made it his goal to engineer a product that would address this issue.
After years of testing prototypes (on his own farm) and thousands of hours of testing in the field Paul invented a solution that he knew would address this issue, this was the inauguration of the Rebounder Seed Cover solution. Even his early prototypes had the same distinguishing features you see in today’s internationally distributed Rebounder. The Rebounder became the next generation of innovative products designed and manufactured by Schaffert Mfg. (proudly made in the USA) serving as an extension of the seed tube to reduce the effect of seed bounce and depth control management.
